Kaupa sports initiative set for Oct 27-28

ORGANISERS of the John Kaupa Sports Initiative programme in the Port Moresby North East electorate are calling for teams to register for next weekend’s games.
The Northeast electorate, which has four wards, has been divided into two divisions for the upcoming games that will be held at two venues on Oct 27-28.
Division one comprises wards 5 and 6 and their venue is Unagi Oval at 5-Mile, while Division two constitutes wards 9 and 12 and will play their games at Bomana.
Division one president Jeffrey Bomai said the sports to be played included men’s and women’s rugby league and soccer for women.
Bomai said registration was open for teams.
The men’s rugby league competition will have two grades (A and B) while women’s competition would just have one grade for soccer and rugby league.
The registration fee for A grade teams is K300 and K200 for B grade teams. Registrations close on Wednesday (Oct 24).
