Kaupa wants people involved

OINT District Budget Planning and Priority Committee meetings ARE usually chaired by open electorate MPs on most occasions, or every time they are held behind closed hotel rooms and guest houses or in secrecy.
But that’s not the way and pattern for the member for Moresby North-East and Minister for Housing and UrbaniSation John Kaupa.
He wants his electorate people to be part and parcel of his Joint District Budget Planning and Priority Committee meeting and have a say in the budget of the funds that was meant for their welfare and the development of their electorate.
Kaupa sees DSIP funds as the people’s money and that is why he wants the people to have a say in the budget.
From media reports, Moresby North-East budget meeting have been held with the people in settlements at 6-Mile, 9-Mile and Buswara as preferred locations. Not hotel rooms.
