THE Government is working with the newly-elected Autonomous Bougainville Government in implementing the autonomous arrangements as per the Bougainville peace agreement, an official says.

Director for the National Coordination Office for Bougainville Affairs Ellison ToWallom told members of the ABG House of Representatives during a week-long induction workshop about the roles and the responsibilities the office played as a double advocacy for the Government and ABG.

He highlighted the impediments the office was facing in speeding up the autonomous arrangements, particularly in the draw-down and the transfer of powers and functions from the Government departments and agencies to the ABG.

ToWallom said the Government was committed in ensuring that the autonomous arrangements worked for Bougainville.

Towallom urged the members of the House of Representatives and the National Parliament to work with his office.
