Keep hooligans off streets

I WOULD like to report a certain practice taking place at 5 Mile, NCD, with regard to the street light poles that are mounted on the dividers along Hubert Murray Highway. On the first occasion, just in front of NBC at around 7.30pm earlier this month, I saw a young boy walk to a pole in the middle of the divider, push his hand into one of the openings in the pole and turn the light off and on again. On the other two occasions during power outages, I saw a man run to the one of the light poles and do the same but this time trying to turn the light on. And just opposite a well-known hotel, another young boy does the same. I don’t know if this is happening in the other parts of the city but it is a real concern.  The NCDC police reservists must ensure that our city streets are free of these hooligans who are defaming public properties such as street lights.
