KEWAMUGL Lutheran High School in Kerowagi, Simbu, is planning to raise funds to meet costs for desks for its new double classroom.
School principal Betty Komndi said the double classroom was built with funds from the provincial government grants.
This building is now completed but there are no desks.
“For this reason, the opening was delayed. We are now planning to raise funds for the desks through a walkathon,” she said.
“That is why we would like to invite people who are willing to help, to join us in this effort by sponsoring a desk for the new classrooms.”
The walkathon will begin at their school and go through Nondugl in Jiwaka, Kumbal then to Kornigle and end at Kerowagi.
The walkathon is scheduled for July 23, which is Remembrance Day.
Martin Kombri of Kombri and Associates Lawyers is one company that has already come forward and said it will sponsor the walkathon.
