PAPUA New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) member associations manager Stanley Khanna has urged all 15 Kerema Soccer Association clubs to work together to help the competition re-affiliate under the sport’s national governing body.
He said that when visiting the Kerema association last week.
Khanna was accompanied by PNGFA president John Kapi Natto and technical director Paul Isorua.
Khanna said it was the start of a long journey to re-gain affiliation.
“The journey starts with you all 15 club presidents to achieve it, and it must start now,” he said.
Under Kapi Natto’s leadership, Khanna said they wanted to reach all corners of the country.
Boasting 18 member associations, PNGFA is working to get nine more potential members to affiliate to the governing body.
Khanna said they had contacted four potential members already, including the Kerema association.
The others that PNGFA had contacted were East Sepik, West Sepik and Alotau.
PNGFA is yet to contact Popondetta, East New Britain, Jiwaka, Hela and New Ireland.
Khanna, however, warned the Kerema association not to involve politics with soccer.
