LAE lord mayor James Khay is concerned that some candidates may have abused the electoral process by not being truthful about their qualification to contest the elections.
Khay who is facing 43 candidates in the local level government elections said for example some candidates did not even reside in the vicinity of the city.
“At the same time they do not have a name in the Lae urban local level government common roll,” he said.
“Whatever the law states we must all follow accordingly.”
