Kids in blue

Kids in blue . . . The 106 students from Tent City Police Barracks Elementary School last week wore their uniforms for the first time since the establishment of the school in 2001. The uniforms cost K5,000 and were paid from school fees, according to head teacher Tewai Gipe. School board member Simon Yipam said the board was happy with its achievement, as the school was established initially to cater for the children of police officers residing at the Tent City Police Barracks, but is now accepting children from the nearby communities as part of the force’s involvement with the communities and public. The blue and red colour symbolises the color of the police force.
