Kikala must face full force of the law

Letters, Normal

I REFER to the report “MP Kikala referred to watchdog” (The National, Oct 5).
The referral of Lagaip-Porgera MP Philip Kikala to the Ombudsman Commission by the court must be seriously dealt with.
It is apparent the MP made a lot of decisions on impact projects in the electorate without consulting LLG presidents and the district administrator.
The MP conducted joint district planning and budget priority committee (JDP&BPC) meetings in isolation of all levels of government in the district by picking some “bush kanakas”.
The funds for the electorate since 2007 must be audited because large sums of electoral funds could have been diverted.
The Ombudsman must conduct a thorough investigation.
