Killing disabled a serious crime

Letters

IN response to the news article on Thursday ‘Murder suspect stabbed’, killing a person with disability is a serious crime.
I see it as a one-sided case as the victim is a sick boy and he is harmless.
He cannot defend himself at such an attack, especially with knives.
I don’t even see any reason for attacking such an innocent boy who has nothing to do with you.
My heart still cries out when reading that he was screaming for help until he died, as reported by Madang Town Mayor Joe Yama.
The question is: Where was the surrounding community when the victim was being attacked right at their doorstep?
The victim, Solomon Yama, is a family member and it is painful to lose him at such an early age.
He did not deserve to be killed and in such a manner.
I call on the authorities to ensure justice is served.
Rest in peace brother Solomon Yama
