The 2016 soccer competition in Kimbe, West New Britain, will kick off in late March.

Kimbe Soccer Association general secretary and acting vice-president Maha Waname urged clubs intending to participate to call into the PNGFA regional technical centre (soccer academy) and register their players.

Ten clubs took part in the 2015 season, with teams competing in the Under-17, Under-23, women’s and premier divisions.

“The field is now open for old and new clubs to come see me or call into the soccer academy to register their interests,” Waname told The National.

All games will be held at the academy grounds.

Waname said soccer was the biggest code enjoyed in West New Britain with many talents yet to be exposed.

Meanwhile, Waname said a general fixtures meeting would be held on March 6 and interested clubs are to send their representatives and officials.
