THE Kina Bank has announced a suite of new products and services to accelerate PNG’s digital transformation and make services available to a wider range of customers.
According to Kina Bank, local card holders will access its online payment which means customers with Kina Bank cards can now transact online through the bank’s internet payment gateway.
Kina Bank chief executive officer Greg Pawson said they wanted everyone to benefit, not just visa or mastercard holders.
“Customers with Kina Bank local cards can enjoy the benefits of shopping online using our internet payment gateway for the first time,” he said.
“It’s a significant step forward in our strategy and is a first for Papua New Guinea as Kina Bank powers the digital revolution across the nation.
“This means card holders can register for the Lands Department’s e-government solution using their everyday card to pay land rates.”
Back then, such online services were available to visa or mastercard holders only.
As the demand for e-commerce grows in the country, the institution is re-shaping the customer experience by ensuring new digital products and services were available to a wider range of customers.
A further development for the bank saw the successful onboarding of the Immigration and Citizenship Authority (ICA) as their latest government client, making government services available to everyone.
With ICA signed up to its internet payment gateway, customers would be able to apply for visa and citizenship applications online, without having to visit a branch.
It would allow users to pay for multiple applications at a single time as the service was fast, easy and secure.
The latest milestones came from Kina Bank’s ground-breaking partnership with local fintech company NiuPay.
NiuPay was the first PNG-based organisation to offer true end-to-end, online financial technology solutions and were working closely with government behind the scenes.
NiuPay’s e-government solution included number of in-house modules to support the management of the ICA.
