Kina Bank is building a bank of the future for Lae, says chief executive officer Greg Pawson.
At a customer event in Lae on Tuesday, Pawson and his ANZ PNG counterpart Mark Baker met with the customers to provide an update on Kina Bank’s acquisition of ANZ PNG’s retail, small and medium enterprises and commercial business.
“We have introduced a new network and two new data centres to provide a fast and secure service,” he said.
“It means, we have a far more robust and stable network and our customers in Lae can expect a dramatic improvement in customer service.”
Pawson also announced a suite of new products and services the bank would launch throughout the year as the bank was dedicated to serve Lae community and would launch even more new products and services for customers.
“We are looking at online retail FX service, contactless payment options such as Google Pay as well as introducing tap and go credit cards for customers to be able to bank anywhere, anytime.”
Pawson said last year the bank introduced online loan applications and accounts opening which were a huge hit with the customers.
The bank has about 85 separate digital-based projects being developed at the moment and has been investing significantly in technology behind the scenes.
The bank’s belief is that banking should be simple, convenient and easy to access.
