Kiwis win 4-0 to seal U17 spot

 NEW Zealand’s Young All Whites have won the Oceania Under-17 World Cup qualifier after beating Papua New Guinea 4-0 in the first game on the fifth and final day at the Luganville Soccer City Stadium in Luganville, Vanuatu.

New Zealand will now represent Oceania at the FIFA U17 World Cub in the United Arab Emirates later this year.

PNG’s third loss of the competition means they finished second last in the six-nation tournament.

After a goalless first half, New Zealand came out stronger in the second to overpower PNG.

Both teams traded long passes but the New Zealanders had greater accuracy.

New Zealand scored their first goal in 57th minute through Stuart Holthusen. Three minutes later he 

Substitute Andre Blake found hard worker Monty Patterson, who tapped home NZ’s third goal.

PNG, sensing the game was drifting away, saw coach Bob Morris brining on n Joniel Kambual for Dallas Numuesh but that made no difference.

New Zealand completed the rout in the 82nd minute when Holthusen picked up his hat-trick as the ball was cut back from the goal-line for a waiting Holthusen to knock home

In the other match, Fiji thrashed Cook Islands 5-0.
