FOUNDATION Port Moresby AFL club Koboni were blown away  by KDC Dockers by 54 points at Amini Park on Saturday.
Even the recall of former international coach John Kali did little to save the Demons as Dockers piled on the misery 16.6. (102) to 7.6.(48).
But the 2009 premiers may be excused for the poor outing as they were re-entering the competition a year’s lay-off and from a bye last week.
In a way, the game was more a training run for the next generation of footballers from Hood Lagoon.
The Demons held their own in the second half when they matched   goals with Dockers booting 3.0 to 3.1 in the third quarters and 3.4 to 4.1 in the last quarter.
Dockers set up victory in the first quarter scoring 5.2 and 4.2 in the second  to unsettle Koboni, who only managed a behind in the first and a goal and a behind in the second.
By halftime, Dockers had established a 50-point lead at 9.4.(58) to 1.2.(8).
The second half was a mere formality for the Dockers as they piled on 7.2 despite Koboni’s late surge for a respectable 6.4.
