KOIARI Nagavas boosted their inaugural Southern Super League campaign with the unveiling of the club’s new apparel in partnership with Water PNG in Port Moresby last week.
Club patron and Koiari landowner group chairman Arua Soge said the gear was valued at K11,600.
Speaking on behalf of the Nagavas and Koiari’s sporting community, he said the presentation of jerseys was the start of a partnership between Water PNG and landowner groups.
“The presentation of this jerseys reflects and shows the commitment of Water PNG to the Koiari landowners,” he said. “Rugby league is the first sport to get this support and what we want to do is get all the sporting bodies and put them all under one association so that no-one misses out for the future of sports in Koiari.
“Whatever is given to us will not be taken lightly, but we will acquit and we continue this partnership with our corporate sponsors.”
Water PNG chairman Aiwa Olmi said the company would continue its commitment to support landowner groups through sports.
“It’s always a pleasure to support sporting groups and I’m proud to work with the landowners,” he said.
“We’ll build the relationship for the benefit of water and power users in Port Moresby and surrounding villages.”
