ANGLIMP South Waghi MP Joe Koim has put a stop on people from his district coming to see him in Port Moresby.
He said that people who wanted to talk to him about matters regarding his electorate should go back to the district.
Koim said his parliament office was only for meeting purposes and not a place to entertain people with their queries.
“I have to make it clear that any person who wants to see me must do that in the district and not in Port Moresby.
“Port Moresby is not the district headquarters and therefore I have to put a stop to any person wanting to see me.
“I will only accept appointments for people to see and talk to me at the district headquarters,” he said.
Koim added that the government had transferred project funding to the districts and therefore all matters relating to his electorate must be discussed there.
He also put a stop to people making appointments to see him through his parliament office.
Koim said he would be in the district when parliament ended and advised all his people including councillors to stay back in the district and not to waste their money coming to Port Moresby.
He said his actions were tough “but that is the only way to stop people flooding into Port Moresby and to stop unnecessary accidents and spending”.
“We have to be in the district to build our district because we are a new province.”
We must do every thing in the district,” Koim said.
