Koki Market is for the grassroots
The National, Monday February 16th, 2015
THE Koki Market is finally completed, except for the fish market.
Congratulations to the Moresby South member for a wonderful achievement and for having foresight in providing to the people of his electorate.
The sad thing is the cubicles are only lent out to BSP, Westpac, Paipon Store and Chinese entrepreneurs and a few Papua New Guineans as that was what I was told when I enquired on the possibility of getting one for my wife who is from Central (we reside in Badili).
This does not adhere to the national government’s SME policy.
It talks so much about this policy, but does the right hand know what the left hand is doing?
We will have to wait and see what the member tells us as none of the cubicles are open for business yet.
This market belongs to the grassroots and should remain a grassroots market where they can compete on the same level.
