Komal: District to undergo changes
The National, Tuesday 27th November, 2012
THE resource-rich but under-developed Nipa-Kutubu should experience transformation now that the government’s focus is on districts, MP Jeffery Komal says.
Komal said the People’s National Congress-led government’s election promises had become a reality with so much money allocated to districts.
“This is the change of times for the people who have suffered silently over the years longing for basic services.”
He said his Nipa-Kutubu district was ready to embrace the government policy and translate the budget allocations to improvement of lives.
“Thanks to the O’Neill government, Treasurer Don Polye, National Planning Minister Charles Abel and Finance Minster James Marape for framing a budget that suits and targets the rural people. My people will embrace it,” he said.
Marape said although his district was home of the first oil discovery and the PNG LNG project, nothing had changed over the years.
He said his priority was to improve the districts infrastructures, health, education and law and order.
