Kompaon happy with trials

TEAM PNG Paralympics medal hopeful Francis Kompaon has expressed satisfaction over his first trial conducted for Oceania team last Saturday.
The pre-London Paralympics Games warm-up event was held at Cardiff International Athletics Centre for all Oceania athletes taking part in the forth-coming Games.
When asked how he felt with the race, Francis responded saying, “this was a really good race for me and I am glad
I participated.”
Kompaon, Milo Toleafoa from Samoa and Marcel Houssimoli of Vanuatu took on two of Australia’s seasoned athletes.
The events included seated throws, 100m, long jump, 400m and relays. Meanwhile, an ambulant throws event for shot put also took place at the Indoor stadium.
The second warm-up match was held yesterday at the same venue and was organised by the Welsh athletic team
Meanwhile as the days are drawing near to the 12th Paralympic Games in London, excitement is looming in the city of London. A number of Paralympic symbols, the Agitos, had been unveiled in different cities of the United Kingdom, replacing the Olympic rings.
The PNG Paralympic team were amongst Australia, Fiji and Vanuatu teams who gathered during the unveiling of the magnificent Agitos in Cardiff, Wales last Friday.
