Kondra: Tourism talks must be strengthened

The bilateral relationship and dialogue between Australia and Papua New Guinea in terms of tourism should be consistently strengthened, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Boka Kondra says.
He said that during a meeting with Australian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea Deborah Stokes at his office when receiving an update on the Australian Government’s support programme for the PNG National Museum and Art Gallery. “The museum was established through a cultural grant from Australia in 1975. This grant helped to create the National Arts School, the Institute of PNG Studies, the National Film Institute and the National Dancing Troupe,” Kondra said.
He said the programme of support included infrastructure improvement scholarships and other capacity-building assistance and partnership with Australian counterpart national institutions.
