The National, Friday 17th May 2013
LUFA MP Jeffery Kuave has joined the People’s National Congress Party led by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.
“I believe I have made the right decision for the Lufa people by moving from the Opposition to Government. For 20 years, Lufa district has suffered from lack of development and service delivery,” he said.
“But I believe this is about to change with the implementation of the policies of the PNC Party and the government led by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.
“The direct funding to districts means we can plan and get projects done in districts without having to wait and worry whether Waigani will listen to our call. I must commend the Prime Minister for setting realistic policies and driving and aligning government departments and agencies, and our development partners to achieve our targets.
A petition challenging Kuave’s win in the 2012 general election was withdrawn and he thanked petitioner Edward Mike Jondi for “putting the people of Lufa ahead of personal interest”.
