Kubak ready to take up secretary’s role

 JULIANA Kubak, the acting secretary of the Department of National Planning and Monitoring, is ready to step into her new role and be an example to others. 

Kubak replaces Dr Peter Ga’allah Kora and thanked him for directing the restructure of the department. 

“Personally, my devotion and commitment to the public service for the past 20 years has not been in vain.

“I have seen the fruits of my efforts,” she said.

“I have seen this department undergo so many transformation and I would like to maintain and secure the department’s firm foundation as the central agency providing leadership in coordinating and facilitating national policies, plans and implementation of the budget, through rigorous monitoring and evaluation of our progress towards development aspirations and 

goals.”

She said there were too many mistakes made by the department in the past but she wanted to look ahead.

“I am only looking ahead to what we need to accomplish as the lead department in the planning ministry,” she said.

“Despite the negative and tainted image portrayed by the media and public perception, I would like to assure you that any evidence of misuse of development and recurrent funds across will not be ignored.

“Make no mistake, such misconduct or impropriety will not be entertained or condoned.”
