PAPUA New Guinea Kumuls halfback Watson Boas left Port Moresby yesterday for the United Kingdom for another season with second-tier English rugby league side Doncaster.
After spending two months in the country with his family, the 27-year-old told The National that he was eager to rebound from wretched 2021 season, hampered by injury, with a strong club and representative campaign in the upcoming season.
This will be his third season with the Betfred League 1 club after re-signing a three-year deal last August which will see him remain with Doncaster until the end of 2024.
Boas told The National that 2021 was a bad season for him due to his injury which saw the former SP Hunters playmaker undergo surgery on his torn anterior cruciate ligament.
“Last year was a bad one, I went through a lot, being away from my family and getting injured and then not playing.
“It was one of the worst years of my career, but I’m happy I got through everything.”
