THE Kundiawa Rugby League has re-elected Timothy Simbia for a third two-year term as president.

Simbia was elected unopposed during their recent annual general meeting.

Other executives voted in were Joe Daugl as vice-president, Nick Wagere as secretary, Samson Wagi as treasurer and Erik Mondo as president of the junior competition.

Daugl replaces Makis Anton and Wagi comes in for Michael Robert.

Simbia thanked the club presidents and sponsors for their confidence in returning him to the post.

He encouraged cooperation among clubs so the work of developing talent in the Kundiawa/Gembogl district benefited the youth and helped the community curb instances of drug and alcohol abuse and other social problems.

Wagere said a notice would be put out shortly to advise the 11 clubs of the start of the competition scheduled for April 28.

The competition secretary said the club registration fee was K1,500 and advised clubs to settle as soon as possible.

Wagere highlighted the fact that some outstanding payments due from the TNA Simbu Lions franchise for services the league rendered during the Digicel Cup and Ipatas Cup last year would be pursued.
