Lack of equipment a real challenge

Letters

NO one is willing to admit the real challenge of combating Covid-19 in the National Capital District.
There are few suspect cases who have shown symptoms of Covid-19 after 14 days of isolation.
But there are no personal protection equipment and testing kits for the rapid team to take samples on referrals from the clinics.
All referrals were interviewed by phone by the rapid team who have put them under their radar but have not progressed to the testing stage. A suspected case had to sit for five hours at a hospital without anyone attending.
Were they too scared for cross infection because of no Personal Protective Equipment?
Whether we like it or not Covid-19 is already in the country and only tests will prove otherwise.
Most suspects and their family have been injected with standard dose of crystopenicillin as off this week.

Worried,
NCD
