Lae’s DSIP funds distributed to different projects

ABOUT K1 million for the district services improvement programme (DSIP) has been broken down by the Lae district administration for projects and other important funding areas in Lae city.
According to Lae district administrator Budds Botikie, K250,000 has been budgeted for staff houses, K50,000 given to the Martin Luther Seminary to help in its agriculture projects, K50,000 for cocoa projects that are about to start, K100,000 for the Ahi landowners credit scheme in partnership with the National Development Bank, K150,000 for the Lae urban micro credit scheme in partnership with the Nationwide Micro-Bank mainly for youth development and projects in the city and K100,000 for taro development, mainly in infrastructure development  storage and encourage small scale farmers to produce taro for local and international export.
“The money has been released and we will use it to the best of our ability in order to give services to the people,” he said.
