Lae corporate bowls start

THE lae Bowling Club corporate bowls started on a high note on Monday with defending champions Gamoga and Co Lawyers winning their games with big margins.
This year’s challenge has attracted 20 teams who will be up against each other for the next 10 weeks before the finals in the 11th week.
Teams taking part are Trukai, Riback 1, Riback 2, Rabtrad, SP Brewery, DGS Vampires, Paparazzi, Tablebirds, Lae City Council, NEC, Niu Elect, Gamoga Lawyers, Sentry Locksmith, Legends Bar, Skels Agencies, BSP, Air Niugini, ANZ, Ela Motors and Mapai Transport.
The match committee of Harry Kaisa, Dr John Garap and Albert Barakeina have laid down in-house rules for the corporate challenge over the next few weeks.
Each team consists of a minimum of six players and company employees are encouraged to take part.
Teams are allowed an unlimited numbers of reserves, including casual and visiting company represenatatives.
Kaisa said matches start at 6.30pm and appropriate footware were a requirement.
“Any disputes regarding the running of the matches can be lodged with the match committee at any time and the committee’s decision on any dispute(s) is final,” Kaisa said.
