Lae gears up for TB day

 PREPARATIONS are underway for World Tuberculosis (TB) Day that will be commemorated on March 24 which the TB control programme in Morobe will use to continue their plan for advocacy and awareness throughout the province.

TB is one of the fatal diseases and a health concern besides malaria and HIV/AIDS, with admission in hospitals and health centres growing at a fast rate.

TB and health staff of the Morobe division of health with BAHA representatives yesterday held a meeting at the malaria control unit office in Lae to plan for World TB Day, raising issues that should addressed.

Topping the agenda was the multi-drug resistant (MDR) TB and TB HIV increase that were  problems.
