Lae gets new solar street lights

 LAE city residents are enjoying the installation of solar-powered lights between power poles on roads. 

Lae district administrator Robin Calistus said the project was initiated by Lae MP and the Minister for Community Development, Religion and Youth Loujaya Kouza. She is the chairperson of the Joint District Planning and Budget Priority Committee. The city council engaged contractors to carry out the installation.

“The lights were brought through the Taiwan Trade Mission at Bubia. After the approval of K100,000 by the JDP and BPC, the 15 solar panel were installed with the Christmas lights and there are still more to come,” he said.
