LAE’S newest health facility has opened its doors for business.
The Lae International Hospital, located near the main wharf, opened for business last Monday and already patients are flooding in from everywhere, seeking medical care.
The hospital, built on what used to be an old Chinese trade store has modern medical facilities available to meet the needs of those seeking medical attention.
The hospital is owned by Hornibrook (NGI) Steel, Nasfund and other shareholders.
The new hospital cost about  K3 million but the owners said this figure was only an approximate one as the real cost of building and establishing it would not be known for sometime yet until it was fully completed.
A spokeswoman for the hospital said Nasfund was a major share holder in Hornibrook (NGI) Steel.
The company is a major share holder in the Lae International Hospital and Nasfund members will receive a 5% discount upon presenting hospital administration staff with their Nasfund ID.
