TOUCH Football Papua New Guinea general-secretary Ses Lae was appointed the touch competition manager for the 2015 Pacific Games.

A committed and competent administrator of the sport, his elevation as the overseer of the Games competition was welcomed by the touch fraternity.

The appointment was approved by the PNG Olympic Committee.

As the national federation’s general-secretary, Lae has been involved with the code’s elite players and is expected to use that experience to run the competition.

He will step down from his role as general-secretary in May to focus  on his new role.

Lae said he would relinquish his national federation role and other coaches and managers would be brought in to guide the men’s and women’s teams.

The federation held a three-day fitness testing session but the final squad is yet to be announced.
