LAE Rugby Football League president Russ Kaupa has denied allegations of misuse of association funds levelled at him by five club presidents.

The five clubs are Royals, Morobe Tigers, Crushers, Rangers and Spiders.

Kaupa and treasurer Wallis Pingin told The National that the allegations should have been raised in a general meeting which the association’s club presidents could vote on to for the matter to be investigated.

Royals president Wilson Tapi, a police officer registered a complaint with the fraud office who obtained a warrant for access to information on the league’s accounts.

“This was against the principles of the association and PNGRFL,” Kaupa said.

Pingin denied any mismanagement saying the 2015 financial report was presented and none of the presidents disputed it.

He said finals for junior and senior grades were held and winners rewarded accordingly.

“We never mismanaged any government or company monies (if any) instead all we collect and use is from marketing billboards, ground fees and gate takings” Kaupa said.
