Lae Market street mangi

Letters

IT is good hear from the new management of Lae Main Market that the market is generating good income.
Stay accountable and continue the good work.
On the other hand, what concerns me is the rise in street mangi who snatch bags and pick pockets.
They are also selling in the market, which I think is against market rules, and in the process
of selling their stuff, they usually look into people’s bags and bilum searching for valuable items.
This behaviour also applies to the surrounding bus stops, which have become the hunting grounds
of pickpockets.
Another problem: The bus stop is overcrowded with PMVs, causing traffic congestion and risk.
Can the authorities make the city safer and comfortable for its residents?
