Lae players in squad

MEMBERS of the Lae basketball team who took part in the PMMI Port Moresby Invitational Challenge have been named in the PNG men’s train-on squad for the Pacific Games in Noumea, New Caledonia, later this year.
The games will start on Aug 27 and end on Sept 10.
Three women have also been slotted into the train-on squad in Lae.
However, other players who are interested to join the squad should attend a meeting at the Eriku basketball courts in Lae at 5.30pm today to collect their training programmes.
Lawrence Lahari, who is a current PNG representative, will be distributing the training programmes.
Lahari will also be advising the squad members what is expected of them if they are eager to make the PNG team to the Pacific Games.
There is also another squad of men and women training in Port Moresby.
The train-on squad: Wayne Aaron, Percy Aaron, Junior Oscar, Michael Kramer, Richard Sova (NS Busu, Lae), Mika Loko, Jonathan Orme (Unitech Bulls), Peter Buala, Joel Giali and Russell Stafford (Butibam).
The three women participants are Louise Wallace, Martha Bonga and Jenny Magatu.
