LaeTech to host cultural festival

LAE Technical College will be showcasing a variety of cultural dances from around the country when it hosts its fourth bi-annual cultural show next month.
Student Representative Council (SRC) president Anton Christopher said the school under the theme of the show aims to promote the culture in education.
The theme, “Understanding the importance of education in our unique cultures and traditions as preferred destinations in PNG”, has importance on upholding cultural values in educational training, he said.
The show will be held over a three days from Oct 2-4.
The event will be staged at the college’s playing field within the campus along the Milfordhaven Road east of Bumbu Police Barracks.
Mr Anton said there would also be a display of students’ technical projects and additional display of commercial company products and live band performances by Morobe musicians Lista Serum and the Rex and K-Dumen bands.
Affiliation fees for outside stalls are K100, companies K300, open dance competition K30 and outside singsing groups K100.
Tickets are being sold at the school and will also be sold at the gate to visitors and the public.
