THE Bintangor Goroka Lahanis yesterday thrashed the Kemele Hela Wigmen 36-12 in Goroka in Round 11 of the Digicel Cup.

The win placed the former champions on the top of the 2013 Digicel Cup points table coming at the back of a 10-18 loss by Lae Snax at the hands of TNA Simbu Lions in Kundiawa yesterday.

After yesterday’s games the Lahanis lead with 15 followed by the Tigers and the Rabaul Gurias on 14 points each and followed by Mioks and Port Moresby Vipers.

Lahanis through cousins Gonzella Urakusie at prop, halves Hutere Urakusie and Robin Soga made the Wigmen look like beginners.

It was Gonzella who helped the Lahanis take a commanding 24-6 lead by half time, courtesy of tries to winger Spirrow Mikaive (2), fullback Adex Wera and Gonzella. All tries were converted by centre Kevin Inagafa.

Wigmen’s only try came from five-eighth Kewa Kili and was converted by Sova Milfred.

It was an all Lahanis affair as they ran amok in Hela territory through an aggressive pack led by Nicko Ubile.

Gonzella was in again in the the 60th minute running 30-metresand wrong-footing fullback Felix Tangune for his second.

The wiry frontrower then  set up rake Yapa Kapu for a try minutes later to seal a comfortable win despite allowing Wigmen a consolation try to Paul Wawa in the 78th minute.
