GOODMAN Fielder International (PNG) Limited through its  Flame Flour brand yesterday became the first major corporate client in PNG to support the Adrian Lam Foundation with a donation of K24,000.
The foundation is a non-profit organisation initiated by PNG Kumuls coach Adrian Lam to use rugby league as a vehicle to get its messages out to the population in villages and schools.
The messages would include further education through scholarships, sporting equipment, social and domestic awareness and responsibilities and healthy living.
GFI’s general manager, Howard Sergeant, said his company was delighted to announce the latest Flame Flour promotion as it was the dominant market leader flour brand in PNG.
As a leading PNG company, he added that it was proud to be involved with an initiative to invest something back into PNG community.
With similar message and objectives as the Adrian Lam Foundation, Sergeant said the GFI clearly fitted the objectives of encouraging Papua New Guineans eat healthy meals.
The promotion mechanism has been designed to create excitement with consumers to support the foundation.
Sergeant said for every 1kg of flame flour bought at your favourite retail outlet, one toea would be donated to the foundation.
The GFI was optimistic that this is the first of the three presentations and Flame Flour looks forward to meeting and exceeding the donation objectives of K90,000.
In the foundation website, Lam said the foundation was something he wanted deep down in his heart when he first pulled on the prized PNG Kumul jersey in 1993.
“I am willing to do whatever it takes to make a difference in my proud country of Papua New Guinea,” he said.
