THE government’s move to decentralise the civil registry office was an excellent initiative for villagers who wanted to register their integrated landowner groups (ILG), a landowner group said.

Bismarck and Ramu Landowner Incorporated Association secretary Peter Kaula said: “This would cut down on the cost and that the same it is a service for many that have been wasting a lot of money to travel in order to register their ILG’s.”

“Many landowner groups normally travel to Port Moresby to register their ILG’s where it involves a lot of money. Now with this, it will give us an opportunity and will help us to plan well before registering each of our ILGs.”

He said in the past years they have wasted a lot of resources to register their ILGs.
