Landowners’ call backed

Letters

I SUPPORT the call by the Pawaia tribal landowners of Uraru clan PRL 39 and Jahoo clan PRL 15 for their elected leaders to moblise resources and identify the genuine landowners.
This will avoid paper-landowners causing problems like in the other LNG Projects in Hela and Southern Highlands.
In 2013, before joining politics, I supported the landowners from the Elk Antelope area with K470,000 of my personal money to help them organise themselves and form ILGs because I knew this project was coming up.
A good number of my Karamui people belonged to the Pawaia tribe living near the Gulf border at Wabo-Poroi.
I also want my electorate, Karamui Salt Nomane, to be part of the agreement of the Papua LNG project.
Chimbu built schools and health posts in Wabo-Poroi and the Chimbu Provincial Administration administered the area when Gulf neglected it.
