THE Komo Airfield Landowners’ Association wants the Government and ExxonMobil to sign a proper deal regarding the development of the airfield.

Association secretary Johnson Kobali and deputy chairman John Horiame said an agreement was signed early this month by the Government, ExxonMobil PNG Ltd, the Hela provincial government, Ministry of Civil Aviation Authority, National Airport Corporation and other key stakeholders without proper consultation with the landowners.

“The landowners and community welcome the development project as it will benefit over 300,000 people but we need a memorandum of understanding signed,” Kobali said.
