Landowners thank PM

THE Sevese Miai Ori Evera Ovaro (SMOEO) Landowner Association of Gulf province has thanked Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare for endorsing the Elk/Antelope project agreement.
Chairman Joe Ella also thanked project developer InterOil Corp, in particular its chairman and chief executive Phil Mulacek, Petroleum and Energy Minister William Duma and other stakeholders for their efforts in reaching an agreement.
While commenting on the benefits that Gulf province would enjoy from the project, Mr Ella called on the Gulf provincial government, land-owners and people in the province to work together with InterOil to develop their resources.
He said the association was prepared to work closely with the National Government and InterOil to ensure Elk/Antelope  LNG project  meet its schedule for first shipment in 2014-15.
Mr Ella also supported the stand of Gulf Governor Havila Kavo to have the hydrocarbons extracted from their traditional land and processed to finish product before being exported.
