MADANG provincial commander Anthony Wagambie Jnr has issued a final ultimatum to the families of three brothers wanted for murder on Bagbag Island this week.
The three brothers, Fillioth, Nathlun and Nathan Jacobs, from Badiliu village, were accused of the wilful murder of Churchill Sareng also from the same village where he was shot with a shot gun over a family dispute sometime in 2006.
While all three were on bail, only Fillioth turned up on Jan 20, the sentencing date and was sentenced to 17 years, 10 months and 10 days.
Nathlun and Nathan never showed up during the sentencing day in court.
A no-show on the returnable date of Feb 10 saw the National Court issue a fresh warrant of arrest for both.
According to Wagambie, who returned last Wednesday from the three-hour long boat ride to Bagbag, an ultimatum has been issued to wives and families of the two men and they should willingly surrender to police.
“We hear that both men are armed and considered dangerous. If they do not surrender, the police will use necessary force and tactics and whatever available resources, manpower and time to find them in the mountains of Bagbag,” he said.
“This is my last and final warning. If they are armed, then we will not take them back alive,” he said.
