Late Goroka land report worries

Letters

I WRITE to express my concern regarding the Goroka town and airport land commission of enquiry that was conducted this year.
We have now come to the end of the year and we have not yet received any response to date.
It seems the commission, through the lands department, has forgotten to address and respond to the landowners’ submissions.
A total of 16 associations claiming to be legitimate landowners submitted their claims as requested by the commission but the claims are still pending.
The prime minister and the lands minister should come out and explain to the 16 associations of Goroka Town when our submissions will be addressed.
We were disappointed during the opening of the airport because we were not invited or asked to take part in the programme.
We were promised by the commissioner that our submissions would be addressed during or before the opening of the airport.
Unfortunately that didn’t eventuate and we are still waiting for an outcome.
Please let us know when this issues will be addressed and when will the legitimate principal landowners of the airport be identified, out of the 16 associations highlighted by the commissioner during the enquiry.
