SOUTHERN Super League National Gaming Control Board Cup heavyweights Funeral Home Laumas beat hosts Gulf Isou Development 12-8 at Sir Tore Lokoloko Park, Iokea village, on Saturday.
Both sides scored two tries each but Laumas goal-kicker Junior Belo proved the difference with a conversion and penalty goal in the round-three fixture.
Despite his home side losing their third-straight match, young fullback Kenny Laho was named as the man of the match ahead of fellow two-try hero and Laumas hooker Supa George.
Boasting former Papua New Guinea Kumuls’ Josiah Abavu and Adam Korave, Laumas led 10-4 at the break.
In the second half, Isou were in excellent field position to score when referee Koivi Vincent pulled back play — much to the disappointment of the home side and their supporters.
Visiting Laumas then capitalised on their experience to see out the win.
