Launa commends Hekari for initiating tournament

FORMER PNG Sports Foundation executive director Iammo Launa has commended Hekari United for initiating the Hekari Central Cup soccer tournament.
Launa, who turned up at Bisini soccer grounds to cheer her Kalo village team, said the national body should take a stake in such an initiative and support it.
The former PNG heptathlon champion said she played a little soccer during the NCD Public Servants competition at Club Germania supported the Reds’ initiative.
“Central people are sport-loving people who play a lot of cricket, netball, soccer and volleyball,” she said.
Iammo said she hoped Team Central selectors could use the tournament to pick a team for the PNG Games.
