Law abiding citizens fear cops

Letters

VERY interesting to see Boroko Police Station commander grandstanding on EMTV news about the attack on a Port Moresby police unit at a city settlement.
First of all Mr Commander it appears you have conveniently forgotten about the many citizens of this country who have been bashed, wounded, permanently scarred, burnt, and yes even murdered by the RPNGC.
Mr Commander, did it not occur to you whilst you sit in your chair at Boroko slamming the public because they refuse to assist the Police or play an active role in fighting crime within our city?
Did it not occur to you at any time that the public may actually fear the RPNGC more than the criminals themselves?
Did it ever occur to you that in fact the RPNGC is known outside of PNG as the Pacific’s only licenced criminal gang that operate with total impunity?
Mr Commander, to sit and blast out in a very unfriendly autocratic tone of voice as a dictator to the people of our country is counterproductive and shows poor training.
Every day we witness automatic weapons and pistols being fired at market vendors around the city, sending children and people running to hide in fear of their lives.
Did it not occur to you that these children grow up to fear and of course hate the RPNGC?
Now you may understand why most of the people don’t care about what has happened to your gang.

Biku Bavania,
Boroko NCD
