Law abiding taxpayers tired of lunatics

I WOULD like to air my annoyance with our so-called soldiers who went on a rampage at the Manu autoport last Saturday.
Unless I have missed something, the PNGDF soldiers were trained at taxpayers’ expense.
What we have are soldiers getting drunk outside of their barracks and getting into fights with civilians.
And when civilians get the better of them, they run back to their barracks and return with reinforcements in full battle gear – weapons and all – to wreak havoc on the innocent civilians.
To put it bluntly, we do not need such a bunch of defence force personnel.
With the way things are now happening in our region, do we really need immature boys to play soldiers?
Who are our enemies? Indonesia?
We have big brothers – Australia and Uncle Sam (US) – to turn to if we are threatened.
Let us amend the constitution and get rid of this white elephant called PNGDF.
Maybe we should maintain a small regiment only for ceremonial purposes.
Enough is enough.
If the soldiers are bored, utilise them for civil works to assist in nation-building instead of going out drinking and causing nuisance.
