Lawyer lectured on duty to clients
A JUDGE says lawyers have a duty to their client. And they are a farce when they make too many adjournments on their scheduled cases.
Justice Bernard Sakora said this yesterday after a lawyer asked the court if she could “vacate” herself from the trial because she had “family issues” to attend to.
The lawyer told Sakora she had a sick child and that the message had been relayed to her just before she entered the courtroom.
Sakora told the lawyer that oral applications “are devoid of reason and a proper application should be filed”.
