Leaders and their people

Letters

OF all the developments an MP or leader plans, human development is the most important.
To develop human beings to reach their maximum potential, an MP needs to know the people in his or her electorate.
Knowing your people will enable you to make informed first-hand decisions to develop human beings in your entrusted area.
There are only a few MPs who seem to know their people well.
One example is Member for Chuave and Minister for Commerce and Industry Wera Mori.
He knows three quarters of the people in Chuave.
Minister Mori communicates well with anyone who offers to talk with him, regardless of his or social status and it is no wonder then that human development has been picking up since 2012.
The students of Chuave can confirm receiving Wera’s subsidy.
He even visited schools and motivated the student by giving away K1000 hard cash to the top students from elementary up to secondary.
I challenge all leaders to make it their business to know their people.
